Yesterday without being prompted, Jackson looked up at me from one of the chairs at the kiddie table and said matter-of-factly, "a red chair." He really was sitting in a red chair! We have been working on colors (sometimes as I am setting up the colorful folding chairs at the kiddie table in the morning), but he he has only repeated the color names I show him up to this point, and he has never been the instigator of color practice.
Then today as I was taking him upstairs for nap, he started counting, "1...2...3..." then he stopped, so I said, "4..." and then he said, "5..." and I said, "6..." and so on until we had tag team counted until 10! He has been wanting to participate in group time a lot more lately, so we have been doing a few things to help him learn, like counting by 1's to 10 (when my group can can count by 1's, 5's 10's and we are working on 2's to 100) and singing the ABC song. They like to see the smile on his face when he realizes we are doing something he can do with us.
I have always gotten so much satisfaction out of watching kids learn, but it is SOOOO much more satisfying when it is your own child. Awww man, I think I am in danger of becoming one of "those" moms!

And so you SHOULD be:) That is so cute, I always love when B just comes alive "speach wise" when he is around other little kids during our playdates, etc. I feel bad that I'm the only on he has to talk to all day....LOL! It's amazing that Jack picks up on the learning aspect of all those other kids....he is really ahead of the game as far as I'm concerned!
Hee. Hee. Hee. It is so fun to watch them grow and to watch them learn. You are a great teacher and can be pleased to be one of "those" moms! :)
I say live it up! It's always fun to brag! He's learning from the best! Don't stop now :)
